Parrots fixes the Camponado playground for island youth in Utila

The Parrots Utila Diveshop crew recently fixed and renovated the playground for low income children up in Camponado! Two full days of work with many hands helped make this project finish up in no time with great results. We added 6 swings, climbing castle, benches, cleaned it up, added trash can and more. Funds were totally provided by Parrots Dive Shop as part of their commitment to Utila community projects and its future.

Come join Parrots not only for great scuba diving on Utila, but also to be a part of the real community! We can assist you with other volunteer projects on Utila too!

Parrots Dive Shop Hosts Utila's Seniors For Thanksgiving

On November 25, Parrots Dive Shop Utila treated approximately 100 Utila Senior citizens to an amazing meal! Included were turkey, ham, pork leg, green bean casserole, yucca cake, potato salad, seasoned rice, stuffing, bread, gravy, and the works!

Lunch was followed by a slide show of black and white classic photos and guitar music by Brother Wilson. Some Seniors also brought along their own photos to share, as well as old novels and prayer books. We even had a copy of the “treaty” where her majesty returned the bay islands.

The event started at 10 am and ended at 2pm and it was such a success, that we are going to do another one next year.

Thanks to all of those at Parrots and “friends of Parrots” who helped out, and to the Seniors for attending this event.
